LR CHARLESTON

An Evening in Charleston

A behind-the-scenes look at our dream dinner in Charleston, spent celebrating the opening of our King Street shop.

The Venue

We made the Gibbon Carriage House our home for the evening, its private garden the perfect setting for a night under the stars.

The Table

Jessie arranged our table with personal details to make the evening feel even more special. Each place setting featured fans decorated by Florence Sweryda, who designed a custom floral motif with “Loeffler Randall” written across the top, and a chain-stitched bow by Victoria Adrian embroidered with each guest’s name. The table runner represented a signature touch, too, crafted from fall’s ditsy floral print. The spread was perfectly tied together by glassware by Estelle Colored Glass, founded by our friend Stephanie Somerson Hall.

The Menu

We sat down to dinner by the Drifter, every dish infused with South Carolina charm. Local vegetables and cheeses to start, followed by delicious roasted chicken and honey thyme butter, and finally the most delicious chocolate budino for dessert. We sipped on rosé from our friends at Wolffer Wines all evening long, the sweetest accompaniment to good food and wonderful company.

The Flowers

Bouquets of dahlias, daisies, and more by SYG Designs adorned both dinner tables, featuring the most breathtaking pastel palette.

The Guest List

Our answer to: “who would you invite to your perfect dinner party?,” realized. We were thrilled by the opportunity to spend an evening with so many Charleston-based women we’ve long admired.

The Craft

When Jessie discovered Louisa Dunn’s collage work on a visit to Charleston’s Basic Kitchen, she fell in love instantly. Lucky for us, Louisa offers workshops detailing her techniques and expertise, and was willing to lead us in a crafting session before dessert. Look out for more from Louisa in this year’s holiday Craft Fair.

The Wheels

Guests arrived in style, with our very own LR pedicab service on offer, bedecked with custom artwork by Florence Sweryda.
